New Mall Development

In October 2024, the City of Atlanta, in partnership with Atlanta Urban Development and Atlanta Beltline, Inc., acquired the 12-acre site. Plans for redevelopment include transforming the area into a mixed-use project featuring affordable housing and commercial spaces, with construction expected to begin in 2025. Closed 1/31/25.  The first phase of the new development is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
